June was a very productive month for Crestwood Recovery Resilience Solutions (CRRS). Here are some highlights that we are delighted to share with the Crestwood family.
On June 21, CRRS was notified that we were awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the CA Department of Health Care Access and Information for Fiscal Year 2023/24 to support our Medi-Cal Peer Specialist Certification Training and Ongoing Support programming. As part of this grant cycle, we have brought on a number of new partner agencies to provide training to, including the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services, and Aspiranet. We look forward to supporting and building relationships with our new partner agencies as we continue to support and expand our services within our existing partner agencies.
CRRS also met with 50 representatives of Behavioral Health Services in the country of Ukraine and from the Ukraine Catholic University for opportunities in recovery and resilience that we will be excited to implement and share details of in time. CRRS is also excited to be selected to present at the University of Warsaw, Poland, EACME conference. The title of the September conference is “Facing Disruption: Challenges to Bioethics, Human Rights and Democracy.”
In addition to partnering with us in our HCAI grant programming, CRRS is also in development of a long-term agreement with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health for Crisis Care Mobilization Unit (CCMU) work in the integration of peer support and development of recovery culture. Chris Martin recently facilitated the 2-day Recovery Practices for Leaders workshop and the 1-day Recovery Practices for Organizations, both of which were highly received. We continue to provide technical assistance as we gear up for our contract start date.
Our Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training continues apace, with full and multiple concurrently running cohorts, both online and on-site. July, August, and September are triple-booked! We are also pleased to announce that we scheduled and started our first 80-hour, 2-week on-site cohort at the San Diego Peer Employment Learning Center (PELC) on June 19. We are grateful for the San Diego MHRC Administrator, Robyn Gross, and the housekeeping staff for all their support to our facilitators and our participants for this training. We have also scheduled and filled our first two MC PSS Certification Specializations in the Parent, Caregiver, and Family Member curriculum, which we title Support Family Resilience.
And, saving the best for last, CRRS is excited to continue this fall with PELC rollouts with two seasoned PELC alumna, Crestwood San Diego (PELC 3) and Crestwood Bakersfield (PELC 2), while we gear up in collaboration with the wonderful staff under the recovery and resilient leadership of Daryn Nimmo to rollout PELC 1 at Crestwood Eureka soon!
